Hi Wireman - A few of those pictures are incredible! Have you thought about submitting them to National Geographic? If one gets in it could be a good advertizement for the preserve and the work you are all doing there. Just a thought, because I'm gobsmacked by a couple of them.

Great photo essay. When you say: Does this suggest the fire escaped the intended burn area? Well, my car smelled like smoke for a few days afterwards, but that's as far as it escaped. We had no jumps outside of the intended area, which I'm rather amazed by. I just thought the filter I used for the shot of my car looked awesome. It's how Top Gear photographs and films just about everything. And yes, I am definitely going to submit a select few of these photos to Nat Geo's reader photo contest.
