I just wanted to know do you have to fill the pitchers with water or does it make it on its own?

They do it on their own. They need lots of water in order for those pitchers to have that liquid.

If the pitchers dry out, you can add rainwater, especially if the roots have got dry and the plant has wilted. Some species reportedly survive entirely on rainwater entering the pitchers on adult plants. They will absorb water from the pitchers if they need to.

So adding water to the pitchers wont hurt them?

no it will not, but it is not recommended unless the fluid has been dumped out, like during shipping, or the pitcher is empty of all fluid, usually sign that you should water the plant anyway.
