Hi, at the moment i am checking some pictures i have taken some time ago, that are still on my memory card. During this i came across the following ones. Utricularia reniformis is one of my favorite species and always a great pleasure in spring! Christian

Very nice! Thank you for sharing. I can't wait until my Utricularia reniformis starts to flower. I have had a hard time finding its happy spot in my set up. Getting close though! So far the terrarium seems to be best.

A fabulous plant Christian. I can't wait until my Utricularia reniformis starts to flower. I have had a hard time finding its happy spot in my set up. Getting close though! So far the terrarium seems to be best. You may be waiting quite some time as the plant tends not to flower until it is large and well pot-bound. Even then there is no guarantee. Oh and as the flower spike is around three feet tall I don't know that your terrarium will accommodate it.

Lol, Luckily, this plant is not from seed and is already decent size- growing pretty fast too. Although that 3 ft flower spike might need some accomodation

Hi all,
for me, U. reniformis flowers each spring. I think, a cold winter is necessary to flower. Since i keep my plants at about 5°C in Winter they flower each spring without any problems.

I agree with Christian. My large form U. reniformis starts flowering each spring with the flowers lasting through the summer into fall. I grow them in my unheated greenhouse where winter temperatures approach 1°C in winter.
Interestingly, my small form U. reniformis plants have never flowered under these conditions.

MAybe keeping them cold AND almost completely dry could help to form some flower buds. at this time mine still didn't produce any flowers as it's the same story for U. alpina.
Some advise for U alpina?
