As of recently, and thanks to some members in here, I'm going to try going organic - now everything else in my yard gets the organic treatment, since all are replaceable, should God forbid, someone bite the dust. However, as we all know, you can't just run out and buy another clump of S. flava 'Maxima' should you lose them to pest infestation or fungus, so with them I would always break out the big guns (Isotox and systemic fungicides...try not to cringe) and crop dust once, in Feb. before spring and all of nature really gets going, maybe once more if things really got bad. I was wondering about feedback on any organic (ready to use, or concentrates)pesticides/fungicides on the market and their effectiveness - I know there's no such thing as a one time killer, however I'm not interested in a product that has to be applied over and over again, since not only does what you're trying to kill build up a tolerance, but it's also NOT healthy for ANY plant to be hosed down with any kind of chemical - organic or not on a regular basis - and some of those chemicals CANNOT get in between the scale like rhizomes on Sarracenias, where the mealies hide, not to mention the soil itself - which I'll just re pot.
