Warning on the water quality of San Diego

I've used the tap water for more than a month on my nepenthes. Today I used TDS meter to test the water quality, and I was surprised that the tap water hardness is 800+ ppm!. I tested my filtered water via the PUR filter, and the hardness is only reduced to 700+ppm. I once thought the hardness may be about 200ppm. But now I know I made a mistake. I'll never use filtered tap water for my nepenthes. I am glad that I find this early and up to now my neps have OK.
