I got some weird new idea for a topic, but I think it's worth mentioning, a soil section for what kind of soils you use for your cps. Or maybe a sphagnum moss sections instead

Yes, very weird... I don't think we can justify a separate board for the subject, which is best discussed in the appropriate genus specific boards

well is it possible to make a permanent thread in each of the genus's boards that you could discuss soils in?

I don't believe there to exist enough interest to warrant a sticky at this time. Potting mixes can be a lot like a cooking recipe in that they reflect the personal preferences of the "cook". Most have evolved over time based on personal successes and failures and many include what materials are on hand at the time a plant comes in. For now- icps.proboards105.com/index.cgi?action=search

i see ...so its almost a completely personal recipe mixed in with experiences....that also probally have different effects at different temps/locations.....so pretty much as a general of thumb then would be to follow basic soil conditions/requirements then tweak it to your preference/convenience......
