A fierce storm hit the Bay Area Tuesday. I left my traps out to enjoy what I thought would be a gentle rain. The storm intensified and the severe winds blew down a power line. That's a live wire hanging above my traps! Fire crews taped off everone's backyards. All I could do was watch and hope that my traps would be OK. Everything turned out fine and today the VFTs are enjoying a beautiful, sunny day. ;D

Apple started in the Cupertino/MontaVista area; the west side of the Santa Clara valley. In the early 70's this was still mostly prune and appricott orchards. The land was cheap then and a light industrial park was built on Bubb Road. Apple still has offices there. The Bay Area weather is great for growing just about anything. My VFTs really enjoy it.

Your VFTs have beautiful colors. Are the colors true, or just due to the camera? Btw: can you list the types of your VFTs?

I think those are Bloomrite plants he just recently purchased. I'm not sure how Bloomrite grows their plants before sending them out onto the market, but they always look awesome.

Were could you find Bloomrite plants? The only place I've been is Ace Hardware Store, Lowe's, and Home Depot. They seem to come in Death Cubes or under watered to death. I've never seen that well grown plant but from nurserys built to grow them.
Thanks,

I've seen them at Wal-Mart and Home Depot. I've heard that they can also be found at Lowes and the 99 cent only stores.

Hi Zhillin, The VFTs are very red, but the colors are a bit false. The bright morning sun added a lot of yellow and the auto white balance didn't correct for it. I only have two cultivars: D. dente and D. akai ryu. The rest are typical froms that I got from Home Depot. Still, a very colorful bunch. I just shot this with corrected white balance. This one got really red in the sun. This one is from the same batch, but didn't get as red. Thanks, MT.
