I feed my VFTs with fruit flies. For each plant, about five flies a week. Is it too many for VFT? I just want them to grow faster and bigger.
Thanks.

A bit to much I think. If you feed you have to remember that a trap will only work for a couple of times and that it takes time to grow a new trap. You might wind up with no open traps to show the plant off. 1 or 2 preys a week is more than enough.

I got fruit flies for my VFTs too, but they are too small to trigger the traps. Now I feed them to my tropical fish and let the traps catch their own flys. ;D

If you put them outside in warm weather where they get direct sun at least a couple of hours a day and don't let them get too dry, they WILL catch flies. Simple as that.

...and get fried by the sun. Any plant grown under glass requires a period of acclimatisation or will burn when placed in unfiltered direct sunshine.

I also neglected to warn against watering them with kerosene or boiling salt water. Also, never attempt to feed them baby crocodiles.

I don't think it's possible to overfeed a VFT particularly. It's not unusual to see them in the wild with every trap closed.
Go for it.

I agree with Alexis. I don't know if it's possible to overfeed a healthy VFT.
