I started this bog bowl with young, bare root stock. I'm hoping that next summer this will be very showy. The bowl is 14" plastic, terracotta colored. I put in a center tube with notches cut around bottem end. There is a 2-3" substraight layer of pumice and the rest is 50/50 sand and sphagnum. The top dressing is a strange mix of sphagnum, grass and other odd litter. Some interesting volunteers have popped up; ferns, grass, and sundews.

Looks great! It should be a mass of VFTs in no time. I would recommend removing the ferns though. I had them to and thought they would look nice with my CP. They did for a while until they took over the pot. Ferns get massive. They will be shading your VFTs in an unhealthy manner within a year. Toss 'em

I second the fern removal. They can get very large and when they do, their root system will become tangled and twined making removal harder than if you nip it while small. You can always grow it in its own pot.

Thanks for the advice. The ferns looked kind of nice, but I wasn't sure if they would become invasive. I'll be sure to pull'em tomorrow. ;D
