Hi Folks: We have openings for both Holiday Break (Dec. - Jan) and summer intern/volunteer positions at Meadowview. I see posting by a number of students on the ICPS Forum who are interested in the cultivation and conservation of these plants and I invite you to contact me if you are interested in working with our organization. Typically, intern positions are an unpaid opportunity to learn about an organization and techniques in a certain field. Meadowview is dedicated to preserving and restoring pitcher plants and their associated ecosystems in Maryland and Virginia. We have a fully functional and climate controlled greenhouse for propagation and research, a national collection of Sarracenia, and own a 100 acre pitcher plant preserve that is being restored. All of these areas have exciting work for interns to do. Since interns may be coming from out of state, we do have lodging and facilities at the research station to accommodate two students. We may be in a position to provide a small stipend but this will depend on a number of factors as we go through the interview process. If you are interested in applying for an intern position please contact me at meadowview@pitcherplant.org. You can visit our web site at www.pitcherplant.org to learn more about our organization. Sincerely, Phil Sheridan Director Meadowview Biological Research Station
