Some quick photos of my plants and new greenhouse

So my wife and I finally made the move to Ashland, Oregon. Since we've settled in, I've got my new greenhouse set up! I'm very excited about that. It gives me plenty of room to expand my collection.
Unfortunately I kept most of my collection inside under fluorescent lights this spring in order to try to keep them cleaner so I could gather tissue for tissue culture. When we arrived here in Ashland, I planned to just put them out in the greenhouse and let them acclimate. I had no idea that the temperatures would be over 100°F the week we got here. Between the heat and the intense sun that they weren't used to, most of them burned to a crisp!

The plants in these photos were either outside when we were living in Boulder, have recovered or, for one reason or another, weren't affected as badly by making the move from fluorescent lights to direct sunlight.

I have a small green house, but it seems to hot in the summer. how do you regulate the temp and how hot is too hot for CP's? Thanks, MT.

My wife Mariann and I are just over the 'hill' from you in Montague, CA. It is really hot here in summer, that's why I was asking how you regulate the greenhouse temperature. Thanks, MT.

For the first 3 weeks I've been here, I was just letting them cook out there...hah. I had no idea that I'd need to regulate it, but I noticed they weren't looking so good and I put a thermometer out there and realized it was way too hot. Three days ago I got a nice 20 inch fan that moves a ton of air. I have it running now during the hot part of the day. Seems to keep it under 100°F.

Ah, I see where Montague is! You're very close. If you ever want to meet up to do a trade or just check out each other's collections, that'd be cool!

You have quite a large collection of Dionaea there. I must also say, the view from your yard is truly amazing!

Wow! You have 'Cudo'? How large is it? Is someone making it available?

I know the feeling of having your plants fry inside a greenhouse. You may want to try several things: A swamp cooler, shadecloth or adding even more plants in there. Preferably all 3.

The Cudo I have is extremely tiny, but I think that's just how they grow. No one in the US is making them available yet. I got mine in a group order from Best Carnivorous Plants.

Thanks for the suggestions about how to cool the greenhouse. I did, in fact, add a shade cloth, more plants and a 20 inch fan. The shade cloth does the trick! I did use the fan today because it was a scorcher here, but usually the shade cloth alone is enough to keep it well under 100°F in there.
