Massoud,
If it is spiral, then it is one of the compact florescence which will work. Its what i use on my CPs. 65 watts? Is that the incandescent equivalent or its actual wattage? I use 100 watts, and thats the incandescent equivalent, and it isn't quite enough... then again, my light is probably too far away from the plants.

Hey unstuckintime:
It's the actual wattage. In terms of the incandescent equivalent, I iti s 300 watts. To tell you the truth, it's an extremely bright light, in fact so much that you blink many times per second. However, it did carry quite a price tag . . .

mmlr38 -- sorry for the late post, but I have VFTs in an outside bog garden, and it gets down to 15 degrees F several times during the winter - 20 to 30 degrees F frequently. Even in their native habitat, it gets into the 20s F several times during the year, so freezing is not really a problem. Having said that, I'd be worried if the temps got down into the single digits or below for a lengthy period of time. Of course, I would not subject greenhouse-grown plants to freezing without a gradual "tempering" period.
