Hi Josh,
Looks like a good arrangement. I don't know about all the pots and stuff at the bottom of the bog. I've always used peat and perlite myself to fill the entire thing, but it may very well work for you. I'd like to see progression pictures of your bogs. The arrangement looks good. The plants don't appear to be overly crowded (they grow quickly though!) and you have placed your tallest sarras behind the shorter ones. If I were you, I'd consider planting the other sarras in another bog, but filler aside, I think you could have yourself a nice bog.

i dint really understand so if that is wrong can someone plz help and say wot i have done wrong so i can hopefully put it right thanx Just three thoughts: 1. Is that some kind of Styropor/Styrofoam pieces placed on the ground of the barrel? Plastic foam is not useful as a water reservoir. 2. Are you sure that this is the place in your garden where the Sarracenia, VFT and sundews get maximum daily sunshine hours? On your pictures the bog stands in full shade finally and the sun shines by the barrel only. 3. In my climate (Northern Germany) I dig my barrel bogs (black plastic containers for cement mixing from the DIY-store, PVC) into the ground, so that the temperature in the ground of the bog cannot change very quickly. Especially if temperature at the roots rises too quickly in winter on some sunny days in Januar and hardy plants start to grow, they can be damaged or die when temperatures become much lower after started growing. I always dig the barrel bogs into the ground for the reason, that temperature at the roots can only change slowly with the seasons, so that the plants exactly can notify the seasons with rising and falling temperatures and are always synchronized with summer growing and winter resting.

i think on the new bog project im gona save up bottles and put lots of holes in them them put them in the bottom and use some old buckets till its about half way full to 3/4 full to save on money plus it will help hold water

The new containers should make a good bog garden. Are you going to sink it/ them into the ground? They would look better if they were lower.
The best guess on the Sarracenia is just that. It's a Sarracenia.

What made me curious is this:"sarracenia seedling s.oreophila+s.miner from slacks original" (this being the plant in the picture on the far right.) It said from "Slacks original"? Which got me thinking about P&J PlantsThey sell many of Slacks original plants, from his original stock . Is this where you ordered the plants from? I am only asking because I had thought about ordering a few plants from them. However, I would not want to do so if the condition of my plants upon arrival would be that poor. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck with your bog plantings Happy growing -Jack
