Rosette's of Winter-form leaves can be quite large, the rosette in this photo, is 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) in diameter. Not counting the transitional leaves that are protruding beyond the compact Winter-form leaves: Please share your observations of Winter rosettes of this species. I am interested in seeing how they vary in different conditions.

Here's the plant you gave to me in the fall of 2006: It had the summer leaves a few weeks earlier. This was a few months later. Then it did this. I have a new plant because it died this past winter... right after I took winter leaves as backups. A little blurry, but you get the idea.

Thanks, Mark! I'm hoping it will flower but it may not be so inclined. I'm also trying to get the leaves to sprout. This is the most stubborn of Mexican pings for me!

Jim, your Ping seems to be a shape-shifter! I would keep a careful eye on it.

LOL! It's an Allasomorph. Perhaps I should call it, "Odo". It also participated quite heavily in the recent carnage and looks rather messy.
