Hopefully this is not an annoying request. I have access to all of the ICPS's past issues, but it's quite a task to leaf through every one of them. I'm trying to find documentation of a certain research topic. I want to find out which specific minerals/chemicals, when contained in water, have been proven to be harmful to CPs. Has anyone happened upon info such as this?

That is probably too general a topic. I suspect the answer would depend both on species and on concentration of the mineral/chemical. For example, some species grow in gypsum, some in acidic bogs, some in soils containing heavy metals, some near ocean salt spray. What one species tolerates another would likely be killed.

Thanks guys! Both of you have been very helpful with my vague request. My reason for locating this info is to verify that at least one, if not more, of the specific minerals found in certain brands of bottled water have been proven to be harmful to CPs (not necessarily all CPs, but even a single species). I think I'm headed in the right direction.
