Hello Friends, I was quite surprised the other day when one of my containers of Pinguicula planifolia is already putting up spikes. They're a bit early this year and usually wait until the end of December to bombard me with their flower show. Note the clumping habit and multi-crowned plants. The plants are three years old; Happy Growing, Brian.

Hi Marcel, To date, I've only done this method with P. planifolia and P. primuliflora. I don't think that the other US Pinguicula would like it, although I have kept P. ionantha almost as wet and it doen't seem to mind it. It makes sense, since it often accompanies P. planifolia 'in situ' Other US species tend to like things drier, 'ex situ' and 'in situ'
Happy Growing, Brian.

Thank you for the answer. I have read your other thread and know that only in winter this is allowed.
I have the P. primuliflora 'rose' (about 3 large, and 10 small one) I can try if they like it too.
