Greetings! I have been growing CPs for about 3 years and have about 200 plants. It was a quick obsession. I am interested in hearing from anyone in Florida (and honestly anywhere else)about maybe establishing a local meeting/discussion group. I have some very Florida specific questions on growing habits and lessons I have learned. I am also very interested in hearing from anyone in Europe about growing CPs, since I have hopes of returning to Germany at some point in my distant future. Sundews are my favorite, but I am yet to meet a CP I don't like, although I have decided that I like butterworts and Lance leaf Sundews too much to continue buying and killing them. I must be doing something wrong. Has anyone noticed that there seems to be a correlation between people who like CPs and people who like Astronomy and/or reptiles? I have worked as an Astronomy educator for 10 years, and my Dragon likes to sleep in my Nep. "Red Beauty". Makes me cringe. Best wishes. TschuB! Tanja

I haven't necessarily picked up on CPers and astronomy but it sure does seem as if a disproportionately high number of CPers are into herps. Myself included.
Welcome to you. Really glad you found us.

There are a large number of ICPS members in Florida. If you are a member and sign in at icps.clubexpress.com/and then click on the Membership Directory, you can search for members by state or city. There are 4 listed as being in Tampa. If you are not yet an ICPS member, you can easily join at the ClubExpress web page.

Thank you very much. I have been a member over a year, but never saw the forum. After I read Barry Rice's book, I checked out his website, and he has his Astronomy publications listed there. While reading "introductions", I noticed people mentioning Astronomy. Some of my nicest CPs, I have bought at Reptile shows including a gorgeous, big, Nep. Truncata and cool Sarracenia hybrids. I would love to know the connection between CPs and Herps. Thanks again for the welcome.
