I just finished preparing my Aldrovanda tub when suddenly I noticed a plant tangled in the roots of my hyacinths. When I took a closer look I saw dots around it and there were a lot of it in the tub. I must've carried it from some kind of pond in ther mountains near me. I was certain it was a bladderwort. Perhaps U. intermedia? Here's a pic where I took a piece out of the roots:  |

That's probably U. gibba, and I've seen them entangled in the roots of aquatics plants (including water hyacinth) at the home and garden centers. - Rich

I see, thanks! I noticed the "stems" last month but I didn't they were utrics until now!

It's not gibba. Gibba is really stringy and thin. Where was it collected from. A location would help narrow down the species it could be.

I'm not sure. I bought the hyacinths from a pond store in California. It was either attached to the roots of the plants or it could have been carried in by a remote pond I've been to in the San Jose mountains.

cobraplant.com/pics/Uintermedia.gifI believe this is the image you are referring to. It seems to have the right stem thickness but the leaves don't look similar. I think it is probably u. intermedia or u.minor.
