Hello everyone,
This is a general NASC update to let our members and everyone who's interested in the NASC know what we're up to. We understand that our Thursday night meetings can be pretty business-oriented, so I wanted to take this opportunity to let you all know what's going on and invite your questions/feedback.
As some of you know, the NASC annual auction is going to be rolling around soon! Starting June 7th at terraforums.com, this auction looks like it should be the best one yet! We invite all serious bidders and donators to come check it out.
Past auctions have had CPs ranging from Cephalotus, Nepenthes hamata, Nepenthes rajah, rare Sarracenia cultivars, location species, and much more! Even if you're new to CPs, there's plenty of offers that you can bid on to get your collection started. If you've got a plant that you'd like to see in the auction, or are wondering what other people are interested in, check out the following link: terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112508
This year's auction will be donating 50% of the proceeds to the Splinter Hill Bog campaign for a maximum of $1,500. Come read more about the campaign icps.proboards105.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=initiatives&thread=33&page=1.
Besides the auction we have some exciting things lined up. Our newest Board member, JC Stoner (who many of you know as Xvart) is spearheading the NASC Seed Bank. Extra seed will be made available to members. This is a great opportunity to get your hands on some location seed! Expect more information in the coming weeks.
Our database of known plant locations complete with survey forms continues to grow. We appreciate all of you who have done surveys or bring locations to our attention- we currently have over 100 sites in out database. We rely on all of you to be eyes and ears!
Last, but not least is the website and newsletter. The Spring issue of Drumondii has been sent out to members via email. The NASC website is currently down but it should be back up before long, we're just waiting for the technical side. When the site is back up, come check us out, read the newsletter, and consider signing up.
The next coming weeks should be exciting, so expect to hear more!
