Just thought I would share a few from back when I had the old kind of SLR. Just got these photos scanned from a trip to the swamp several years back. The camera kicked the bucket just after this and I just updated to a digital. You can definitely see some S. flava variety here. I hope there aren't any buildings on top of these now. Calapogon sp. D. filiformis D. intermedia

Those are great. I would like to know how you get to Green Swamp. Is it in Pender Co. or Duplin Co. or is it closer to Wilmington.

That top ornata is a real beauty! It appears that the dark neck area extends under most/all of the hood. I'm not sure whether that is an illusion or not - but it's a beautiful plant either way.
Thanks for sharing.

Those are great. I would like to know how you get to Green Swamp. Is it in Pender Co. or Duplin Co. or is it closer to Wilmington. I believe it shares some area in Brunswick and Columbus County, NC. RL7836, Thanks, I'm glad you pointed that out about the maroon extending up onto the lid. The variability in some of those locations was awesome. That color does extend throughout the lid. You can see it on the shortest pitcher all the way to the right where the lid is recurved. Again, I hope those beauties are still there. These photos were taken almost 8 years ago. Something else I just noticed regarding variability. Look at the ornatas in the second picture all the way to the right. The dark neck area is more mottled than those in the 1st picture. v
