Looks as if you have some very happy plants there. Please share more about them and add as many details as possible. There are quite a few people out and about trying to create bogs and you did a bang up job.
Good work.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think melly is the one who did this bang-up job, unless he/she is employed by the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, The Netherlands, (one of?) the word's oldest botanical gardens. That's where these photos were taken - during the European Exhibition and Exchange ( EEE for short) in August :-)

No wonder why the bogs in the photo were so well done! Those bogs blow my bogs away. I've never been to Hortus Botanicus and wouldn't have made the connection that the bog photos were taken there.

Yes, the bogs are from the botanical garden. The rectangular bog on the Photo's was created for the EEE in 2002 when it was also in Leiden. The canopy walk which is also shown was set up with plants donated by Carnivora, the Dutch CPS after a very successful show. We have a very good relationship with the Hortus of Leiden. It helps that the manager of the greenhouses is a former president of us, but drawing nearly 11.000 paying visitors to the garden in 9 exhibition days after the EEE 2007 doesn't hurt the cause either Hortus botanicus is by the way just the Latin name for a botanical garden, usually attached to an University. Leiden has one, Amsterdam even has two (City- and Free university). It is indeed very old. Founded in 1594 it is as far as I know the oldest remaining in Europe, Number two is Amsterdam City University at 1636. To compare, Kew Gardens in England dates from 1759. Right know were working hard on sorting paperwork, pictures and preparing a DVD with the lectures. Will post something when ready. ;D
