Can anyone tell me why I can see some photos but not others.
An example might be: I can see posts of fischermans pings but I can't see photos in a recent post of VFT's by Steve D headed "Just a couple photos".
I've tried right clicking on the "image" box, selecting "properties" so I can cut and paste the url into my browser. I then get a message to say "error 404 page not found".
Normally I would assume the photo wasn't properly loaded but others reply to the post to say they loved the photos.
I'm all confused and frustrated that I can't see these photos when others obviously can.
Dave.

I get the same error. Either the photos have been deleted or there is a problem with the host.

Check the dates of the post. If it has been up for a while the poster may have taken down the pictures.

The firewall at my work office blocks hosts like flickr and images from blocked sites do not show. That is another possibility.

It is a common problem for links to fail. A little sleuthing will occasionally resolve the problem. A simple visit to the linked web site will reveal that SteveD reorganized flytrapranch.com and did not update the URL on his forum post. For example, his Big Mouth photo is now at flytrapranch.com/photos/1_venus_flytraps/vft_big-mouth_01.jpg.php

Thanks for all the help guys, I've just fixed a few problems I was having on my computer with my antivirus sofware. Every time I downloaded the updates my computer would start having problems. I think this was also causing my IE to crash a lot of the time when flickr photos were up. I was getting a C++ error come up and IE would shut down and then give me grief until I rebooted my computer. When I logged onto the antivirus technical support website I did notice a mention of the C++ error. However as I've uninstalled the old version and reinstalled the updated version I'm hoping that all is well and my computer will behave itself... Fingers crossed! As some have suggested photos are sometimes deleted by the poster so I am sure there will be other occasions I will not be able to see photos in some posts. But at least I will know that it's not because there is something wrong. Bob, I did think of sleuthing, but as I was getting so frustrated with my computer's lack of computering I decided it best to come back to it another time. Otherwise I'm sure the computer would find it harder to computer when in several hundred pieces against the wall. Then how would I be able to enjoy more of the posts on the forum? ? Dave.
