I recently moved from SC to CT. I had all my Sarras and temperate Droseras outside all year long. The plants did amazing this way. Now that I have moved far up north, I had to put the plants in my garage for the winter. With spring approaching fast I'm worried the plants might come out of their dormancy too early. Normally I started seeing flower buds by the end of March. Up here though it can freeze until the end of April. Will I be ok, or should I take precautions?

When I had an in-ground bog [NJ], the plants were always behind the ones that over-wintered in the garage. Only the latest frosts had any real impact & required their protection.
For me, the plants in the garage are an issue. The frosts will hurt many of the developing leaves & blooms. Thankfully (I guess), my garage doors are south facing so I sacrifice one of the bays to them. In the beginning when frosts are frequent, they stay inside & I just open the door. Once the frosts are rare, I move them outside & only slide them all back in when an unexpected late frost is forecast. This is a real pain & I'm looking forward to relocating where I plan to have a much more plant-friendly set-up.
Good luck - I'll be interested to hear what others do ...
