alright. i have 2 forms of D. filiformis right here. one from seeds. and one from leaf cuttings. both were labled as D. filiformis ssp filiformis. anyone know for sure?? seedling bog....with invading D. burmanni S. purpurea that popped up in a packet of mixed hybrid(open pollinated) seeds. nice and one of the two(the other didnt come out well) of the filiformis S. leucophylla red..though i am thinking it is Danas Delight...anyone know? Your filiformis have red glands so they are not var tracyi
var filiformis "Florida Giant" is considered a sterile clone so it's unlikely the plants from seed are these.
Which one is from seeds in your photos?

the redder one was from seed. could the first one (more white) be 'California Sunset' ?

Judging from the very last photo, the redder one is the red form. The one in the first photo is probably var filiformis. It maybe "Florida Giant', you'll just have to see how tall it grows (up to around 20 inches). 'California Sunset' doesn't breed true from seed. It should have deep pink or light red tentacles and grow up to around 20 in tall, large rose pink flowers with scalloped edges. www.carnivorousplants.org/cpn/Species/v10n4p95.html

will the red form go dormant as well as ssp filiformis? the redder plant is from seeds.
the still unknown form(white tentacles) was from a leaf cutting. back in spring i got a few specimines from one member labled as ssp filiformis. it was re-labled as 'California Sunset' by the grower. then later on(after the first ones died off from the late frost) i got more plants....but they were labled as ssp filiformis. he said for sure they are ssp filiformis. it could still be a mis-ID right?

With the red form some may go dormant, some may not. The ones that don't go dormant you should remove and grow indoors as they should be protected from frost. My "Giant" has white tentacles with red glands and I've seen other var filiformis with white tentacles and red glands. You'll just have to wait until it flowers to make a better ID and even then that may not be positive Warren

You 's. purpurea looks like a hybrid in the first picture of the two, it looks a bit taller then a normal purpurea. I like the drosera- not only do they play war with each other, they play war with the other droseras too! Some great pictures there.
