Hey I am about to set up my first bog garden here in Eastern NM. How deep does it need to be? I found 2 liners, one is only about 6 inches deep and the other is about a foot and a half to two feet deep. I am leaning toward the deeper one so I have room to mulch it if the winter gets really bad here again. As for the plants, I currently have 2 S. Tarnok, and 1 each S. Rubra, S. Dana's Delight, and D. Californica. I am looking for a S. Purpurea so that might make it in there as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Mike

The deeper the less of a chance of it drying out, I have to water mine daily sometime every-other day so make them as deep as you can if you get very dry or hot since I'm on the coast I don't need to worry. I won't be able to over winter any of them out there too shallow of a bog so I would go for the deep one.
