Hello my friends ! I ordered venus flytraps ,3 varietys or colors of pitcher plants and drosera round leaf , i live in Puerto Rico so it won't be easy, i'll will use GA3 to germinate and as substrate peat moss , sand and perlite steralized. I won't give them direct sun i'll use the black shade cloth used in nursery plants, food will not be a problem at all fruit flys , mosquitos , flys ect.....Huminity won't be a problem ether . What i really need help is after germinated and grown if any of them need to be put in the fridge , which month and for how long if needed and germination without GA3......Any setup pics will help alot ! Sincerely .............//////////////

You don't need GA3 at all for these! It will be very easy to grow these in Puerto Rico as long as you respect their dormancy requirements. I am going to go ahead and recommend that you do give them direct sun once they are aclimated to it.
They will all need a fridge dormancy, assuming the round leaf sundew is D. rotundifolia. You should take them out around April.

Like JLAP said, you won't need GA3 to germinate these seeds. They all like direct sun. The more the better. Your substrate materials are good. Out of curiosity, what proportions are you going to use?

Thanks alot Justlikeapill and Steve!!!!!!!!!!! I'm thinking in using a substrate made of 60% peat moss /30% of sand / 10% of perlite because peat moss holds or retains alot of water. but it will help with airriation because sand is heavy after wet and compact.... What do you guys think. help will be apreciated with the fridge dormancy , will all of them need it or just the sundew, i know by April like you said but for how long .
Thanks alot ! Sincerely ...........////////////

On a different subject: Perhaps you should give lowland nepenthes a try. You got to the perfect climate for it.

Sincerely ................///////////////// I think you're best off buying small nepenthes plants rather than trying to grow them from seed. It's possible - of course, but I've never seen it done, therefore I wouldn't know where to recommend getting them. Also as far putting plants in the fridge, I've never had to deal with it, because my own climate mimics that of Georgia fairly well (except for the humidity), but what i HAVE read is that you simply don't stick the plants into the fridge one merry old day. This will shock your plants. Reducing the photo-period may induce hybernation, followed by moving the plants to a cool, shaded spot. It doesn't have to be refrigerator-cold, but at least nice and cool. I remember reading that VFT's require SOME light - even when hybernating, so the fridge may prove a little extreme. Mine always have leaves - even in winter... but then, I live in Northern California. Best of luck!

I have been practising mycology for a couple of years now, humidity indoors or out is easy with a coolmist humidifier and a timer, if guys need help building a kmart stewart plastic closet setup just PM , i incudated cubensis, liberty caps , oyster mushrooms , reishi ect....... I still have some cubensis spore prints of oyster mushrooms cultures in petridishes and syringes cultures , if any will love to try them i'll trade for seedling of CP..........................//////////////////Sincerely !!!!I'll send first. or word is what we have left and no body can interfy.....................///////////////////

Sadsoul, Regarding growing medium, I also live in a tropical climate and use a mix of 50% peat moss and 50% perlite (no sand, too heavy) for almost all my CPs. Maybe you should try growing lowland/intermediate Nepenthes, which grow easily in your climate, and then branch out to CPs that are more difficult in your climate.

JJK ! Thanks for the advice , i'm trying it as soon i can , but try to buy a grown one all ready in line , you can't find seeds or plants here in any place , it's hard or you will never find them in seeds or seedlings ever ....................but what i will love to get is atleast two small live sphagnum moss plants and multiply it here ....................just for the top of the pots , it gives it a nice wild life look and helps with humidity too... Sincerely ........////////
