Having not seen this thread before I am amazed at the opus it encompasses. Simply spectacular! With leaves like these who needs flowers? But then the flowers... ! When I finished the 14th page I was kinda saddened that I was through. Thank you, Brokken, for making the effort to share. I really enjoy the photography and I think your latest 'artistic' shots turned out very well. I also like the way you grow D. capensis and binata in the bottom of your bogs. - Mark Thanks Mark! I really appreciate comments like yours. I'm glad that some people enjoy the progress shots year after year. -B-

OMG! You have some of the most amazing looking mini bogs. I hope I can have something half as nice one day.

do you get alot of seedlings popping up from all those flowerheads or are they removed before the seeds mature?

do you get alot of seedlings popping up from all those flowerheads or are they removed before the seeds mature? Occasionally, I let them open and drop where they are but mostly, I collect them and pass them along to other growers.

Insane collection of minibogs, and sarrs. I like the pink flower, what plant is that from? Perhaps an S. rosea? I also love how most of the pots are stuffed with 'dews. They make them a little more interesting.

Really nice display you've created over time with some equally nice clones. Clearly, in that time you have slipped over into true Sarracenia fan territory - more, more, more and more again plants added to your collection ;D Give it a couple more years and your lovely looking dog will be struggling to find anywhere to sit.
As far as D.capensis goes, here in NZ the species is classified as a noxious invasive pest in some regions because it runs rampant in the wild just as it does in cultivated CP collections. In some locations it has crowded out native Drosera, particularly D.pygmaea. In those areas where it is classed as a pest it is illegal to sell or distribute the plant.
Whilst it's a gorgeous plant, it is generally regarded as a weed amongst CP growers here.
