its amazing to see where you began, and the progress you've made since then. great work and amazing plants man! always envious not only of the number and quality of specimens under your care but also of the way you present them!

Wonderful plants!! Maybe I know what you use as your potting mix? Do you use 1 part perlite and 1 part peat moss?

I generally add a little less perlite and more peat to keep the later from floating to the top but in general, that would be the rule.

Do you change the soil at all? Like annually? It must be a real hassle!

Brokken: for your Extreme Unction, are the pitchers ever a brightish yellow, and do they sometimes have straight, not wavy, lids? I got an EU from Dean Cook and mine looks how I described it. I will get a pic later.

I love the use of the decorative planter this would be excellent in NJ as my backyard is small and only has sun in the afternoon. Your plants are beautiful and appear to be very happy. best of luck

I will get a pic later. They tend to be golden brown for me. I suppose it's possible that bright yellow is within the range of colors possible for this cross. If that's the case, I'd love to see pics if you get a chance!

Nice plants. how often do you have to water? Generally once a week - where I fill the bog all the way to the top. In the worst of the summer, they may have to be watered twice a week though.

Having not seen this thread before I am amazed at the opus it encompasses. Simply spectacular! With leaves like these who needs flowers? But then the flowers... ! When I finished the 14th page I was kinda saddened that I was through. Thank you, Brokken, for making the effort to share. I really enjoy the photography and I think your latest 'artistic' shots turned out very well. I also like the way you grow D. capensis and binata in the bottom of your bogs. - Mark
