Hi i have about 120 Drosera Capensis plants and in spring they all flowered ....and produced loads of seeds ...about a month later i had a drought and almost lost a few ...after recovering they all flowered again in (December). .....and now they all start flowering again.....3rd time .....Is it common for Drosera to flower that mush in only one year?

Hello! When it comes to D. capensis, this is sometimes the case. That's why they can become pleasantly weedy in most collections-TONS of viable seed are produced as well... In my opinion, i would trim off the flower spikes after they're a few inches long, to reserve energy for vegetative growth, since it has experienced profuse flowering a few times already. If you nip off the spikes at first sight of them, they tend to put out another quickly... Happy Growing, Brian.

It seems my D.Capensis are flowering all the time. They are under lights in the winter (outside in the summer) and I never change the photoperiod. I am always cutting off flower spikes. Brian is right though, if you cut the spike too early, it will send up another right away. I usually let it get a few inches before I snip it.
