Is there any way to successfully simulate a warm stratification necessary to induce germination in tuberous sundew seed? My problem is that I live in San Francisco, CA and I'm getting a late start. I read I should have started the seed back in August and it is now mid-October. Would a warm propagation mat or boiling water poured on the seeds work instead? Or is it possible to get the seed to grow w/o doing a simulated warm stratification? Advise would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about tuberous drosera but I do know that boiling water will kill seeds so dont do that. You should probably just go for it or wait until next year.

You should plant them now but keep in mind that some seeds may germinate now but most may not germinate until next fall. Species like Drosera peltata germinate the easiest and can become pests in greenhouses.

yes i did the same as you and i planted a bunch of seeds howevr the drosera peltata auriculata has germinated... and 1 drosera ordensis ...and i believe also 1 drosera peltata peltata germintated also but it is positioned very close to the auriculata so it may just be one of them.......
