Nice pics of very well grown healthy plants. Do you grow any of the other pygmies? Cheers Picrophyll

G'day
Thanks - the lighting helps a lot -- LOL. But it really is healthy, and this year it produced some gemmae that have sprouted -- so I am hoping the next picture will be a whole pot full
I have two other pygmy drosera - D. Roseana and D. Nitidula X D. Eriicksonia. My Camera does not have a great macro lens so I am not sure about pictures of them

I would guess about another two weeks. I think a lot depends on the condidtions you provide.

Glad the scorpioides are growing for you. As Nicole said, it will depend on the conditions you grow them in. Interesting question though, 'cuase I've never payed attention to how long it took to go from gemmae to dewey leaves. Nice, healthy D. scorpioides Nicole. I like the lighting on them. This is my favorite carnivorous plant. Mine seem to know it as they keep producing gemmae for me. They started in mid October. Good thing is, the gemmae keep in the fridge for quite a while (3+ weeks).

Right now they are where my other drosera are happy and dewy. Does anybody have problems with sarrecenia bent looking instead of straight ,I could try to put it outside but with a 2 year old brother who kills any plants that I look at it would be very hard to find a place to put them. So is the plant exhibiting photo-tropism?

Hey Steve thanks again, they all sprouted every single one,I will soon have two pots full of scorpoides,I am going to see Kim and Barbra Magnums backyard nursery and buy some drosera, nenpenthes and some sarracenia. It is strange that their sarracenia has had no dormancy for like 4 years and are doing great, they said that they create their own dormancy on the website and on the phone they are great.

HI Steve
Thanks for the complement. The lighting is early morning. This was my first try with pygmies. I got the gemmae on EBAY of all places. I had a whole potful growing, but my cats knocked them over and these were the only two to survive.
Fortunately this year they produced some gemmae of their own and now I have more babies coming up.
BTW -- I 'planted my gemmae more than a month ago, and they are just getting to the point where they are getting dewy.

Does anybody have problems with sarrecenia bent looking instead of straight? By bent do you mean a curly or sorta hook shaped end? If so, they could be phylodia. It's hard to say for sure though, as insect damage and chemicals can also cause "bent" leaves.

Nice looking, gooey plants Nicole. When I saw it, it reminded me of this pic... A very dangerous 4-wheeling trip through a carnivorous jungle. We just barely made it through with our lives!

I think the way sunlight was on one part of the plant so it followed the light .

Nicole - I love the way you've caught every gleaming drop of dew. Very pretty.
