Very nice, this is considered a form of P. cyclosecta? The flowers are supposed to be paler than the type form? the leaves don't have the purple margins either.... peter.

Actually being the first person to grow these outside the ABG collection I very much believe that this is a wild hybrid between YuccaDo 1714 (which is cyclosecta) and YuccaDo 1717 (which is esseriana/jauvamensis). I first began to think this based on the full codes given to these plants by the original collector. Having had the years of watching them together I am leaning more and more to that conclusion. Not to mention that man-made hybrids between cyclosecta and esseriana or jauvamensis look identical to it. About the only thing left to do to prove it would be to actually cross 1714 with 1717 and show that the progeny are identical to 'Enigma'. Maybe if I get the time I'll get around to that...

Yes it is a very nice colour,
Does the photo show true to life colour?
I some times find the camera doesn't capture the real depth of colour.
For example I've got a P.mesophytica that pushes out a really nice deep purple flower but I've not managed to get a true to life photo of it which is dissapointing.
