Hello! It seems I’ll be in Orlando in the first week of September. I’m thinking about renting a car and heading to the Florida panhandle and Alabama to visit some of the preserves there, but I am wondering if early September is a worthwhile time of year to do so. I realize the Sarracenias will not be in bloom, but will the plants still be otherwise healthy, laden with pitchers, and worth going out of my way to see? I specifically interested in visiting Splinter Hill Bog Reserve. If anyone can advise me on the state of the plants in late summer, I would much appreciate it.
