Hi everybody!
I’ve just installed a mini greenhouse of Palram, 1.2mx1.2mxH 1.45 (useful height 75cm). It’s almost covered by three sides, except West, so let’s say it is clearly west oriented. already in April, direct sun is since 16:30 Must I put a shade clothe of 50%?
I heard nepenthes should be somewhere between 10.000-20.000 Lux. In the morning, under shade Luxmeter mesures 12000 lux. In the afternoon, 77000.
I have had some nepenthes under more than 20.000Lux without a problem. But if in April they receive such a quantity of light, in august that will be more time and more temperature I guess. Problem is if I put shade clothe, the morning light will be very very reduced, wouldn’t?
Is it equally efficient put an umbrella ? Or that would reduce light more than 50%?
Thank you everybody!

I live in the tropics and never have had a luxometer available, but I have seen that most are severly impacted if they have continuos direct sunlight, but only of the peak hours 10-14. So I have added a 50% shade cloth and they have never had any problem, all flowering without problems, even the ones on the sides which receive morning or afternoon direct sunlight.
