Hello, fellow CP aficionados. It's been a few years since I was able to be an ICPS member and am delighted to be back. I stopped social media a year ago and am glad there is still an outlet to connect and share. I've had a lot of interesting mutations happening with my VFTs this year, a huge growth spurt for my sarracenia hybrid (a rescue from a Home Depot mislabeled as a Cobra Lily), and, thanks to a wintertime explosion of gnats in the terrarium, a well fed jungle of drosera capensis wide leaf.
I love to grow from seed. I started 6 years ago after a reminiscence of why VFTs never survived when my dad would bring them home from the grocery store when I was a child. I found Dr. Barry Rice's excellent Carnivorous Plant FAQ and hatched my first batch from an internet seed pack that was, sadly, not well-labeled in terms of species or history, but I have become much less ignorant in terms of cultivation and sustainability since then thanks again to Dr. Rice's writings.
I'm always looking for tips on how to hatch cephalotus from seed as I have failed three times so far. I am going to be expanding my terrarium to accommodate new species, and have some designs that I will share if/when successful.
Thrilled to return to the community!
Christian
