I've just recently started trying my hand at Mexican Butterworts. i feel pretty comfortable with the soil mix and whatnot.
I know they like to dry out over the winter. The one question I have is this: When do you start watering them regularly again? I've read some conflicting info, some say tray method from Summer to Autumn, some say Spring to Autumn. I'm a little unsure.
Or is it more that you wait for them to start producing their carnivorous leaves and THEN put them in the tray?
I'm a little confused and any info that could help would be great!

Not all Mexican Pinguicula like to dry out over winter; make sure you know which is which as some are heterophyllous and others homophyllous (the latter keep growing carnivorous leaves all year). Of those that do dry out: some will let you know when they want to wake up by producing carnivorous leaves, and then you gradually increase watering. For others, I add just a little bit of water to the soil, keep it barely damp, and wait until they get the hint. Mine are already waking up, have been for about 2 weeks now.
