I'm curious as to what I can use to kill mosquito larva in my cp drip trays that well not harm my CP's. Thanks!

Hi Jessterbal, BT mosquito dunks or bits work great. Here's an example: www.summitchemical.com/ Totally harmless to cp. Jeff

I simply let the tray dry out for some types, and for others I dump the water and refill. Also, I spread Drosera capensis all over, so the flying bugs get caught if they manage to survive that long. No chemicals used.

You know what I use mosquito fish in my CPS water tables and pools. Gambusia Affinas they leave no larva behind and I don't have to feed the fish they also create fertilizer for my plants.

I've wanted to use Gambusia, but they also attract Racoons and fish eating birds that don't care what they have to destroy to get to them. Racoons also soon discover that Sarracenia full of bugs make a nice appetizer before having their fish dinner. If you have a dog in the yard you're fine, but our growing area is too big. Fun option if you can use it. Jeff

Yes some of my Gambusia magically dissappear LOL:) Good point JDALLAS. I breed them and put new ones in so I guess I have created a buffet for racoon ha;) The racoon only go to my green house for the fish. But my outdoor plants have a fake owl and they are scared of it. Try a large fake owl. I don't have any problems with cranes or any birds. I also in my vegetable garden have a Halloween talking brain with teeth that has movement sensor;) You should see the bird rabbits and squirrels when the brain opens it's mouth LMAO!!! Very entertaining:) How have you been jdallas? Hope your sales are good and you and yours.

Can't you use Utricularia to catch the larvaes ? One of my U. vulgaris caught more than five in one trap ! vulgaris is probably not the best species though Bladderworts would be kind of cooler to use than insecticides no ? And easier to maintain than fish !
