While exploring Little River Canyon I finally found one of the species I most wanted to see in the wild, Sarracenia oreophila! Here are some of the pictures I took. (These pictures aren't the best as it was taken at dusk, while it was beginning to rain, with my phone:) Here is what the first plants I saw looked like from a distance This plant had a nice long lid compared to the plants around it Closer view of the long lid Katydid on one of the pitchers some of the plants had fruits! I walked a little farther in the woods and found this impressive clump close up

Wow, seems the site is a little very shaded! is that normal for oreophylla?

It was pretty shaded, not normal but how they are often found.

Very cool to see such a rare and special plant in the wild. Let's hope that they will always be out there.

Wow, seems the site is a little very shaded! is that normal for oreophylla? I also alerted the park rangers and the biologist to these plants, and gave them the GPS coordinates, they said they would go and look at them, so hopefully they will be managed. In a day or two I will post pics S. rubra sbsp wherryi in the wild!

Maybe they could clear a bit around the area for them to have more sun
