Great site. So great in fact, I decided to contribute and purchase some plants. I am chomping at the bits and I haven't heard a peep out of them. Did I get gypped? Its been 4 weeks to the day! I completely understand people being busy, I am just trying to figure out if I got snookered. Has anyone ever ordered plants from Meadowview? Have any feedback? Thanks,

You might want to email them. I have ordered from them twice and both times they shipped and emailed me when they did, but sometimes it does take a while.

They do have a disclaimer on their website that since their main focus is the habitat restoration and overseeing of the reserves they care for, the packing up and shipping of plants often ends up as secondary importance. They should end up shipping soon if it's been 4 weeks though, but I have had orders not be shipped for over a month during busy times.

They should end up shipping soon if it's been 4 weeks though, but I have had orders not be shipped for over a month during busy times. Oh, are you referring to the paragraph here? "Please note orders are handled by non-compensated volunteer staff and that other activities (grant writing, research, intern program, and preserve restoration) may take precedence over plant orders, particularly in the spring. Due to these other important Meadowview activities orders normally take 1-3 weeks to ship. We will fill orders as promptly as possible but there may be delays. We will send an e-mail when we ship." Yes, I read that before I ordered. This statement lead me to believe that in the Spring orders could take longer than three weeks to ship. Like I said in the original post, I know people get busy. I was trying to figure out if I got by gypped. Thank you for your account about your experience.

Hi R1V3:
It would have been nice if you had called us or e-mailed us about your order first rather than post a potential problem on a public forum. I went back and looked in our hard copy order files, and in e-mails for orders on 7/14 and 7/15 and see no order from you (this might explain why you didn't get an order from us if we didn't receive it). Can you please e-mail us a copy of your PayPal order or other information about the order (I presume PayPal). Please send the e-mail to our horticulturist Richard Curzon at richard@pitcherplant.org and copy me at meadowview@pitcherplant.org. We will be more than happy to ship your plants promptly once we have an order in hand.
Sincerely,
Phil Sheridan, Ph.D. President and Director Meadowview Biological Research Station

Sincerely, Phil Sheridan, Ph.D. President and Director Meadowview Biological Research Station Based on your comments it seems to me you might be a tad upset about my inquiry into purchases from Meadowview BRS. I don't see any harm in asking others about their experiences and voicing my own concerns without accusations or slander. So far nobody has had any negative feedback about your organization. In my opinion your sensitivity towards community discussion about your online store seems perplexing. I would think that if your organization is one of integrity and pride you might see any public discussion based upon truth as a positive thing. As a side note, and perhaps a bit of unsolicited advice-- nowhere on your online catalog page is there advisement to call or email if a purchaser wishes to obtain an order status. If this is the protocol you would like to be followed perhaps some verbiage on your webpage to that effect would be in order. Anyhow, I thank you for your response and at your request I have forwarded the PayPal receipt to the addresses you have speficied. And now that I have gotten all of that out of the way.... I think it's great that your organinzation exists and I am still chomping at the bits to receive some of your plants and proudly display them in my bog garden.

Hi R1V3:
We still have not received an e-mail from you. Your actual name or e-mail address would be useful for us to search for your e-mai to see if it went into the junk file. We have a link on our web site called "Contact Us" which should be an obvious route for reaching us with a problem. Sensitive no, just a little annoyed with your approach to the problem. It's considered common courtesy to contact the seller first with a problem. Our organization is very transparent as a non-profit and strive to do the best we can do.
Sincerely,
Phil Sheridan Meadowview

Hi R1V3:
Are you Matt Monroe? I see an e-mail that says "Thank you" in the text with a "Receipt..." in the subject line. I presumed "Thank You" meant thank you for the order, a little more clarity in the subject would have been useful. In addition, the PayPal date is July 18, not the "to the day" of July 15 you referred to in original text. As our web site says we do a lot of other things besides plant orders and little things like this consume a lot of time for a limited staff.
Please confirm this is you and we will process the order.
Sincerely,
Phil Sheridan Meadowview
