Wow, guess what plants I have had shipped bare root and had fail on me? Venus flytraps.

If they are shipped totally dormant they tend to do fine, but like I said before, if they are in active growth, they are a bit more grumpy about being shipped bare root. With Venus flytraps, there's not a compelling reason to ship them bare root since they are smaller plants, and 3 inch pots ship very well. It's a little different if you have a 6" pot of Sarracenia or Nepenthes.

Ok, so I will remember that some plants are good with bareroot shipping while others are not.

First purchase has been made, nepenthes hybrid of talangensis and glabrata for a combined roughly $45.00 with costs of the plan itself, good soil mix, and shipping with heat packs (I am not delusional enough to just use my plain old sphagnum peat moss for a nepenthes, so I decided to buy a specific soil mix for it). Worth it
