Why spend all of that cash on shop-bought and online LED grow lights? Why not just....make your own? It's easy. Just follow these simple steps....
1. Gather up all the old electronics(with LED lights)that are lying about your house.
2. Carefully remove all the LED lights from the old electronics(the more, the merrier). Do this by sharp scissors or a soldering iron(if you have one).
3. Get a shoebox lid and pierce all of the LED light legs through it.
4. Positition the legs so the shorter ones always face the longer ones.
5. Twist or solder the legs together, making sure that they are joined in the way described in step 4.
6. Attach a 3-9v battery, depending on the LED voltage(usually 3v), to a battery holder.
7.Attach the positive wire of the battery holder to the appropriate leg of one of the LED's by solder or twisting.
8. Do the same for the negative, only to the last LED in the circuit.
9. If you have done this correctly, the LED's should light up immediately.
10. If not, check that the battery is full and not expired, that the connection is, well, connected(one loose wire or incomplete bit of solder can change it all)and that the LED lights.are still working and aren't burned out.
