Hi everybody,
Leaving in l 1/2 days, I'm planning on climbing Gunung Talakmau next week. But info is necessary now, as I won't have a computer along during my treks!
So would experts advise me to start the climb from EAST or WEST of the mountain? Which way is easier/faster?
Which village should we start from???
Thanks in advance for your steady attention and quick replies,
All the best from CH,
Olivier

Hi olivier
I Do not know but you can try to ask in bukittingi to a guide or try this guide: Endatno@gmail.com 006285266266992 he lives in Kersik tua, near gunung tujuh and Kerenci.
I went with him to gunung kerenci and he's really profesional freelance guide. He's ornitologist but knows also spots for Nepentheses. Better meet him in the village and tell him you were sended from Christophe, a belgium guy, probably he remembers me. ANd maybe he knows a guide for that mountain too.
Succes in sumatra, it's paradise on earth!!

Thanks Christophe,
I got your mail too late: Already was in Sumatra, and we decided to climb other mountains (a long time ago, I also was in Tujuh for Aristoloch.!) We went to Taram (tenuis), Bukit Barisan (jacquelinae, dubia...), Talang (inermis, talangensis...) and had a great time overhere. As it was the forth time for me, I know I had to expect some stiff behaviour due to Ramadan, but on the whole, people were very kind indeed!
I would agree with you concerning Paradise on earth, except for all the dirt poor villagers live close to...
Kind regards from CH, et merci encore beaucoup,
Olivier
