Looks like the Heli section is neglected, so ... What do people like to use to grow theirs in?
Cheers,

I've got some of mine in pure live spagnum and some in half peat half live spagnum.
Both types are doing well.

Cypress bark mulch, topped with live LFS
I have had bad luck with 50% peat/ 50%perlite.

I formerly grew them in live LFS but I've recently changed my mix to equal parts LFS, orchid bark mix, perlite, vermiculite.
I stopped using LFS because it tended to compact and turn to mush at the bottom of the pot, even in less than a year.

I'm sorry but I don't know what is the "LFS". Could you help me?

Long Fibre (or Fiber, depending which side of the Atlantic you reside) Sphagnum.

I see that pure live LFS or LFS are good mediums for Helis.

Yes, they are....I like to mix a little perlite in with Chilean sphagnum to assist with drainage and make the compost a little more "airy" Bri.

Hi.
I grow all my Heliamphora in a mix made of peat, gravel and sand for three years now. I roughly use the same recipee for my Sarracenia.
François.
