I have the seeds germinate in pure wet perlite and before the sprouts take root place them in the ultimate pot in which it will mature.
i use a 3 parts sand 1 part peat mix and keep the plants relatively wet in the first month, after that it's just once a week water for the plant.

thank you I also found this: www.bestcarnivorousplants.com/Drosophyllum_lusitanicum.htm"The literature often indicates that Drosophyllum prefers to grow in alkaline substrates (Slack, 1988; Lecoufle, 1990; D’Amato, 1998). We are not sure whether this data is based on observations in nature or logical deductions and speculations only. More field research is needed to support or discredit this data. During our observations in its native habitat, we have never seen Drosophyllum growing in alkaline soils, despite several intensive searches at suitable places. Juniper et al. (1989) also cites that Drosophyllum keeps away from limestone areas. Miguel Porto (personal communication, 2000) in Portugal reaffirmed this in a subsequent survey." so do they prefer alcaline or acid soil?

today I notice my first sprouts I scarificated (don't no if this word exists ) the seeds, cut the tip off and left them underwater over night. After that I sow them in a mixture of sand perlite and vermiculit and a llittle bit of peat. Now I will wait a few more days and will plant them in several pots with a mixture similar to the one above, and other in a simillar mix but with a kind of limestome rich in calcium, to see in which soil they prefer, acid or alcalin. The articles I read said that it should take about on month until they sprout, but after 7 days they already began to show some growth.
