Hi KBY - Nice! You guys in warm climates can already grow almost everything. It's nice to know there are at least a few plants that are the exclusive domain of those of us who struggle to grow so many plants. Can you sense my jealousy? Yeah, but all the “interesting” and “spectacular” species need cool temps ( ) (heliamphora…highland Nepenthes…)

I'm 6B/7A in SE PA, and my vft made it in a half barrel fully above grade, and as winters go around here this was a pretty cold one. We had a stretch of a week solid below freezing with highs in the 20s and lows in the singles/low teens, which is very uncommon. The spot is a pretty sweet microclimate, SSE exposure in an inside corner surrounded on one side by my blacktop driveway and on the other by a black slate patio, with my house right there behind it all as a windbreak. I've had a Rosemary bush there for 5 years which is 3 years longer than I've been able to keep one in this area before.
