'Just bought Drosophyllum plants (3-4 in. high). I live in Southern CA and have heat waves of 100 F - 115 F max. What do I do with them during these heat waves? My greenhouse has an approximate summer max temp of 90 F during these periods with 68 - 70% humidity. Would they survive (they are not seedlings) in the humidity in the greenhouse for a period of time? Or should I bring them in the house for a few days where I have only a western sun window exposure (2 hours a day)? Thanks.

Mine made it through the last two or three summers outdoors. I'll have to see if they survive flowering. Water got a tad low once, but I think I caught it in time (I think that was 2011), so I will be watching to see how well they survive flowering. These look healthier than others I've had; being in the sun has helped. There is some shade. These were grown from seed. I live in Pasadena. icps.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=drosophyllum&thread=6014&post=35745

My seedlings survived two weeks of constant 40+ºC this summer (Western Australia), growing outdoors in full sun, tray watered. They didn't seem remotely troubled by the heat and low humidity.
