Hello guys
I keep my (freshly arrived) VFTs in a terrarium. It is covered with tinfoil from 3 sides, and lit by an Osram Fluora (18W) from 8am to 9pm. Also a reflective cover will be installed above the lamp. Moreover, from 6pm they're also lit by direct sunlight (not very strong, as it's 6pm) for ~1,5-2 hours. My first question: is this lighting enough?
The terrarium itself is located in my bedroom, which is in the attic, so I have a window 'on the roof'. My question is, if the lighing in the terrarium is not enough, should I put the VFTs on the roof from 3pm to 7pm? Wouldn't it be a problem that the roof is hot in the summer, and the humidity is quite low? Also, I think the plants wouldn't like to be moved from one place to another every day. What do you guys think?

Alright, I measured it. I made 2 measurements: - one in total darkness, the only light was my lamp - I measured a ~120% Barry Factor - one when sunlight also lit the plants - I measured a ~300% Barry Factor.
I am quite pleased. I think my plants are receiving at least 150% Barry Factor through the day. Thank you for the link, Not a Number.

Very good. The plants will tell you how they are doing. You may need to move the lights (or plants) closer or further away from the lights.
You will have to give them seasonal cues in order start/end dormancy. Changes in photoperiod and average temperatures.
My plants get enough of that from ambient light coming through the windows and average room temp. I don't even bother changing the photoperiod on my lights and my VFTs and Drosera flower seasonally and slow down in the fall/winter.

Yes, I know about dormancy... I assume I will have a hard time with that, but I will try to do my best.

Dr. Rice says that sunlight is 3700%.I know from growing plants in classrooms that level of light, kiss your plant goodbye.A Pinguicula will be happier maybe that's dim.
