Here is my attempt at doing photography (Just got a new camera, see the background story in the utricularia section). The lighting is not the best in this photo, I will be trying again tomorrow. Attachments:

That is a perfectly beautiful photo. There are always things you can do to make an image even more noteworthy, but that is a very respectable image. :-)

Thanks Paul, I remember your awesome ceph photo so your complement is even more appreciated I just posted a few more photos in a thread in the photos section- of one of my cephs (I have a total of 3 now), my N. jamban and my D. cistiflora. I tried taking some of my heliamphoras but they did not turn out very well- I will try again later.

That photo looks good to me. I dont know what your experence is with photography but one think that I really like to do when you have a subject like this is to play with shutter speeds and apatures. Take your photo one stop over exposed, then two stops and then one under and two under and so on. And then do the same with the apature. I like to shoot 90% of my photos with an apature of 8.0 or better. I like more of my photos to be in focus and the subject and part of the back drop to be in focus. You can start to get a feel for what type of photography your really like and where your eye, your style of photos, is.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback and suggestions. I am 100% brand new to photography- let alone macro-photography. Any ideas are well received.
