Just for a challenge I wanted to try TC for cephalotus. I used non-carnivorous leaves for the explants. I had really serious phenolic bleeding and all the explants died. I'm not sure if the preparation killed them (1 minute in each of 95% ethanol, 3% peroxide and 1:10 household bleach) and caused the phenolic bleeding or if the phenolic bleeding killed them outright. I used PPM .08% and didn't have any contamination.
I going to try again maybe with activated charcoal and potassium citrate-citric acid to keep down the phenolic bleeding. I've also read that initial darkness helps. I may also try disinfecting with 4% PPM instead of bleach etc.
If anybody has had success, maybe they could give some hints on protocols.
