I started TCing in January. I've had minimal success but success none the less. The only thing i've seemed to be successful with, as far as CPs, is venus flytraps. Dente strikes Typical with several plantlets Seedlings germinated in vitro

Can you give us a rundown of your sterilization protocol?

For dionaea seeds I simply use a 1/10, bleach/water mix. Soak them for about 10 minutes, don't rinse them and straight onto media. I use a small dropper to remove excess liquid from the media. Very easy and the bleach thats not rinsed doesn't seem to effect the seeds growth at all.

For explants I use different procedures everytime because i'm still trying to find what works best for me. For the Dente I used a 1/10 bleach water solution, rinse in sterile ro water, 50/50 solution of peroxide/water, rinse, dip in isopropyl alcohol, rinse and onto media. Sorry but I can't remember the exact times but i'm sure it was over 5 minutes in each solution except for the alcohol in which I only give them a quick dip. The explants are all rinsed prior to sterilization in tap water with a lil dish washing liquid.
I'm def just a noob though and any tips or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks for stopping by Peter!

Hey Eric, you seem to have a handle on it. Have you experimented with PPM yet? I am in the process of initiating a number of Dionaea variants, and am also looking for the best Protocol.

Hi Peter. Yes, I use 1ml of PPM per liter of media. I'm sure you'll be able to tackle it. If I can anyone can lol. Good luck!

Eric, what are your medium ingredients or concentrations you used?
Also, how is your cephalotus explant by now?
